HOUSTON (May 28, 2020) – Crime Stoppers of Houston is inviting the community to join its first-ever virtual summer program series kicking off Monday, June 8, 2020. Visit the online calendar here for full details.
All summer presentations are free to attend and will cover an array of critical safety topics in the following key areas:
- Critical Conversations that S.A.V.E Lives in partnership with The Texas Education Agency (TEA) for educators, administration and law enforcement – This webinar series will serve as a platform to inform, educate and provide resources for teachers, school administrators, school based law enforcement, school related safety personnel, as well as all Crime Stoppers organizations on the many topics that concern the safety of our schools and community. Crime Stoppers will provide 3 to 4 monthly webinars based on its ongoing Statewide Training. Webinar topics for this audience include How to Report, The Art of Communicating the Need to Report, Managing a Reporting System, and much more.
- Safe School Institute (SSI) Summer Camp for kids, tweens and teens– The Safe School Institute (SSI) is a one-stop center for all aspects of school and kid safety. Crime Stoppers is excited to offer the first-ever virtual SSI Summer Camp that includes Kids Self-Defense, Virtual Activities with Grandparents, Ask a Cop, Water Safety for Students, Cyber Safety for Tweens, Gaming Safety and more.
- Safe Community Program (SCP) and Events for parents and community members– The Safe Community Program (SCP) is a robust, comprehensive program dedicated to crime prevention across the community and will cover Adult Self-Defense, Elder Care, Childcare Before, During & After COVID-19, Counter-Terrorism, Water Safety, Social Media Safety, Safe Gun Storage, Movie Night with Crime Stoppers (IndieFlix film: LIKE), Human Trafficking, and more.
All presentations will be available through the platform ZOOM thanks to generous funders who support the Crime Stoppers mission to keep our communities safe.
