Registration is still open for the Texana Trot Fun Run, happening Saturday, Nov. 16, in Jordan Ranch. Proceeds benefit the Texana Center’s new Fulshear facility.
Fun on the run returns to Jordan Ranch Saturday, Nov. 16, with the goal of raising funds for the Texana Center’s new Fulshear facility for autistic children and adults.
Registration and sponsorship opportunities are ongoing for the race, which will help fund the cost of building a playground at the new campus.
The race starts at 8 a.m. at The Shed, 30757 Jordan Crossing Boulevard. It is open to all ages and abilities. Friends of the canine variety are welcome to participate as long as they bring a leash.
After the race, the Fulshear master-planned community will host a carnival celebrating Texana’s 20th birthday. Festivities will include bounce houses, food trucks, a DJ and a face painter.
“We hosted the Texana Trot last year and it was a blast,” said Steve Sams, General Manager of Jordan Ranch. “We are excited to hold the race again and help Texana celebrate two decades of delivering life-changing services to people with behavioral health issues and intellectual and developmental disabilities.“
Texana Center began operations in 1999. It currently serves more than 16,000 people annually in six Texas counties including Austin, Colorado, Fort Bend, Matagorda, Waller and Wharton.
The organization broke ground on a new Fulshear campus last year. The planned campus will be built in three phases and upon completion will house a retail training center, the organization’s nationally recognized autism program and a new college-like program for adults with autism and/or intellectual disabilities.
