Seven Lakes-Katy Leads This Weekend’s Football Action

The Seven Lakes Spartans had a bye week last week, which is a good thing as it seeks to refocus from an 0-2 start in District 19-6A play.

The Spartans, 3-3 overall, play Katy at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Legacy Stadium.

The Spartans’ two losses came in rough fashion. They lost to Tompkins, 63-27, in their September 27 district opener. They lost to Taylor, 45-10, on October 4.

Katy, meanwhile, comes in at 6-0 overall, and 2-0 in district play. The Tigers last week defeated Morton Ranch, 45-3.

Cinco Ranch has the bye week. Here’s a preview of the other games involving Katy Independent School District teams.

Taylor Mustangs vs. Mayde Creek Rams

The Mustangs play the Rams at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Rhodes Stadium.

Taylor, winners of three straight, is 5-2 and 3-0 after defeating Cinco Ranch, 57-6, last week. Mayde Creek is 5-1 and 1-1 and seeks to rebound after losing to Tompkins, 28-0, last week.

Paetow Panthers vs. A&M Consolidated Tigers

The Panthers play the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Tiger Stadium in College Station.

Both teams are enjoying excellent seasons and enter the game with identical 6-0 overall and 3-0 District 10-5A records. Paetow defeated Rudder, 51-21, last week. Meanwhile, A&M Consolidated defeated Lamar Consolidated, 41-7.

Morton Ranch Mavericks vs. Tompkins Falcons

The Mavericks play the Falcons at 11 a.m. Saturday at Legacy Stadium.

Morton Ranch is 4-3 and 1-2 after losing to Katy. Tompkins is 6-1 and 2-1 after defeating Mayde Creek.
