Constellation has partnered with the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – A Very Special Project of the Children’s Museum of Houston, to celebrate September Hispanic Heritage Month with activities, bilingual literacy, performances and more!

The celebration will kick off with Fiestas Patrias and will extend through our Día de los Muertos event in November.

Constellation customers also receive $2 off admission for up to six people when they present their current bill (paper or mobile) on Sept. 14.

Join the Children’s Museum of Houston for fiesta, freedom and ballet folklórico as we commemorate Mexico’s “Fiestas Patrias” with:

  • “Galletitas” (Mexican cookies) from 10 a.m. until they’re gone.
  • Mariachi Juvenil at noon.
  • Grito Re-enactment at 12:15 p.m.
  • Ballet Folklórico at 12:30 p.m.
  • Elena of Avalor appearance; story time at 2 and 3 p.m. and meet-and-greet after each story time.

BOOKS BY LATINO AUTHORS, ENTIRE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER

Immerse yourself in an abundance of children’s books written by Latino authors!  Discover the importance of bilingual literacy and learn to appreciate the cultural diversity of Fort Bend County.  From Sept. 13 to 19, find bilingual books in English and Spanish in our Junktion stations.  Explore more inside the Fort Bend Christian Academy in the Kidtropolis, USA exhibit during the entire month of September.

The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center will be magically transformed into a colorful, beautiful and bountiful Land of the Dead, bursting with an incredible ofrenda of “sugar skulls” and marigolds in celebration of El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).  Join Miguel, Imelda and Hector during a “Coco”-inspired celebration.  Plus, Artist Christian Navarrete will have a bone to pick with you!  Get your face painted during Navarrete’s “La Calavera” face painting interactive.
