Katy ISD Names New Principal for West Memorial Elementary  

KATY [July 18, 2019] – West Memorial Elementary (WME) wildcats will be starting the 2019-20 school year with a new principal.  Today, Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski appointed Rebecca “Becky” Marron as the new principal for WME.

Ms. Marron has 13 years of experience in public education, which include roles as a teacher, department chair, instructional coach and assistant principal – all of which have cultivated the skills and knowledge she needs to take on this new role.  Ms. Marron’s entire educational career has been spent at one of the best school district’s in the country, Katy ISD!  She first arrived in 2006 as a seventh and eighth grade science teacher for Morton Ranch Junior High (MRJH).  During her time at MRJH, she was named the Science Department Chairperson.  In 2012, she transitioned to WoodCreek Junior High and Beckendorff Junior High schools and served as a science instructional coach.  A year later, Ms. Marron took on an administrative role as assistant principal at Nottingham Country Elementary, which she held until 2018.

Even during summertime, you’ll find Ms. Marron taking on the task of preparing students for the upcoming school year.  During the summer of June 2016, Ms. Marron served as the summer school assistant principal at Exley Elementary.  Her most recent position at Katy ISD was at the newly opened Paetow High School as the student support assistant principal.

Ms. Marron received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Education Administration from Lamar University.
