Power Up for Back to School

KATY [July 15, 2019] – As one of the fastest growing school districts in the nation, this year Katy Independent School District will be welcoming over 81,000 students on Wednesday, August 14 for the 2019-20 school year.  Before the school bell rings, the district encourages parents and students to Power Up for Back to School through the updated online registration system, PowerSchool Enrollment.

“We want everyone’s registration process to be as smooth as possible.  Online registration is not only a quick and easy option for parents who have new or returning students, it’s cost effective and allows the district to cut back on the unnecessary expense of sending hard copies home with students,” said Chief Information Officer Dr. John Alawneh.

All Katy ISD students are required to enroll, or update their information, for the new school year using the online registration system.  Access is easy with the new online registration icon found in the upper right-hand side of any Katy ISD campus webpage.  Enrollment and updates will take place in two phases which include:

  • July 15, 2019 – New student enrollment begins.
  • August 1, 2019 – Annual student updates begin (for current Katy ISD students).  Parents and guardians will receive a unique SnapCode for each student currently enrolled in Katy ISD to the email address on file. (Note:  Individual SnapCodes will be sent in batches by last name to all current Katy ISD students.  All students should receive their notification by August 2.)

For new Katy ISD students, parents will still be required to visit their child’s designated campus to submit certain documentation, such as proof of residency and vaccination records.
