Officers with the Katy Police Department and the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office seized five eight-liner gambling devices, and over $100,000 in cash, following a raid of the Katy Star convenience store Wednesday night.

Police said the devices and cash were part of an illegal gambling operation that took place at the store, 5710 Highway Blvd.

Police said the eight-liner gambling devices were hidden behind beverage coolers in a back corner of the convenience store, 5710 Highway Blvd.

The raid comes after several weeks of surveillance, which included undercover officers going into the story and being paid money for their winnings from the gambling devices.

Police said customers in these situations can often become targets of other types of crimes because of the significant amount of cash on hand.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
