Discovery Center makes a big splash for Moana magical celebration as part of “Freak Out Friday” select Friday series
Friday, July 14, beginning at 1 p.m.
Sail across the “open ocean” on an action-packed voyage, encountering extraordinary characters and impossible odds! Make waves while you meet Moana and immerse yourself in island life, culture and adventure during a fan celebration. Don’t forget to check out special events or appearances during select “Freak Out Fridays” at the Discovery Center’s “Sci-Fi Summer.”
SPECIAL EVENTS:
“Moana” Meet-and-Greet: Bring your camera and snap a pic with the fierce ocean voyager, Moana.
Event Time: 1 to 4 p.m. (Various locations)
“Moana” Art Workshop: Artist Christian Navarrete will show you how to draw “Moana” characters.
Event Time: 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at OcuSOFT® Art Academy. Sign up begins at 10:30 a.m.
Polynesian Dance Performance: Get your groove on with hula dancers.
Event Time: 1 to 4 p.m. at Kids’ Hall.
Lei Making: Take part in an ancient Polynesian tradition by making your very own lei.
Event Time: 1 to 4 p.m. at Kids’ Hall.
ON-GOING “SCI-FI SUMMER” ACTIVITIES:
- Sonic Screwdriver: Assemble a special gadget screwdriver just like Doctor Who at Junktion.
- Back in Time: Design a time traveling watch at Junktion.
- Steampunk Time Traveler: Construct the perfect time traveling accessory at Junktion.
