With hurricane season upon us, it is never too late to start planning and preparing for a possible disaster. Alan Spears of the Fort Bend County Emergency Management Office will give local businesses tips and recommendations for preparing their employees and properties should such a disaster occur at this month’s Working Lunch Series hosted by the Central Fort Bend Chamber on June 15 at the Fort Bend Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
As the Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, Spears duties include updating county emergency plans and Operations Section Chief in the Emergency Operations Center. During the luncheon seminar, he will present on how to prepare and cope with natural and made-made disasters that could affect businesses and everyday life. His presentation will include an overview of the types of disasters and common emergencies that a business should be prepared for in our local community. Spears will share resources and tools that are available and steps that businesses can take to safeguard their properties, employees and themselves in case of an emergency.
The Central Fort Bend Chamber’s Working Lunch Series focuses on educational topics for small businesses and is held the third Thursday of each month.
