Sister Act at the World Theater March 10 – 11, 2017

Based on a hit classic film comedy starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act is a musical written by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane with lyrics by Glenn Slater and music by Alan Menken.
Sister Act is the story of a disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, who falls in love with a thug named Curtis. Deloris witnesses Curtis commit a murder and Curtis can’t let her live. Deloris ends up in hiding on police orders in a convent whose parish has been facing a hard time. Although the life style in the convent totally contradicts her previous lime light lifestyle, Deloris finds her calling working with the choir, and breathes new life into the old convent while discovering a sisterhood bonding she has never experienced before.
Burton Wolfe, Executive and Artistic Director of World Theater cast Stacy Lin Duncan in the leading role as Deloris. Stacy moved to Richmond, Texas four months ago to be closer to her mother and due to her husband’s job relocation. Stacy loves theater and has been in plays since she was in elementary school.
