AUSTIN ⎯ Texas added an estimated 256,100 seasonally adjusted jobs over the past year. There were overall job decreases of 7,300 in September, due largely to effects from Hurricane Harvey. Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.0 percent, down from 4.2 percent in August and remained below the national rate of 4.2 percent.
