WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) met today with Nobel Prize winner Dr. Jim Allison of MD Anderson Cancer Center and Jed Manocherian, founder of Advancing Cures Today (ACT) for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), an organization which advocates for government-funded biomedical research. They discussed cancer research funding and support for the NIH. Last year, Sen. Cornyn honored Dr. Allison on the Senate floor for his Nobel Prize winning cancer treatment discovery. Sen.
