Oakbend Medical Group Welcomes  Newest Orthopedic Surgeon  

Richmond, TX… Dr. Enrique García has joined OakBend Medical Group as an orthopedic surgeon and sports doctor.  García was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in Medical Sciences and Research from Boston University after which he returned to Puerto Rico, graduating Summa Cum Laude from University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.

Following his graduation, he completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery in the Medical Sciences Center (University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine), one of the busiest trauma hospitals in the Caribbean.

Dr. García completed his fellowship training at the Baylor College of Medicine and Ironman Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas where he also served as assistant to the Team Physician of the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo, University of Houston Athletics, and area high schools.

He specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee with particular interest in the treatment and prevention of ACL injuries and cartilage restoration procedures. Starting with a strong patient-physician relationship, Dr. García works closely with his patient and their trainers to optimize both surgical and non-surgical outcomes.

“Our goal is to get our patients back to whatever sport or activity they enjoy the most, whether they are a competitive athlete, a weekend warrior, or an individual with an active lifestyle,” explained Dr. García. “I am looking forward to serving the Fort Bend community and particularly aiding local high school athletic programs to provide better care for their student athletes.”
