Houston Grand Opera Announces Free Tickets to Winter Productions for Federal Employees Affected by Government Shutdown

HOUSTON – January 23, 2019 – Houston Grand Opera (HGO) is offering free tickets to its winter performances to federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown from now through Feb. 8. These productions include Florencia en el Amazonas and The Pearl Fishers, both playing at the Wortham Theater Center. Those eligible can reserve one pair of tickets per person per production, subject to availability.

Complimentary tickets are available for the following performances:

  • Florencia en el Amazonas– Jan. 26, Jan. 30, and Feb. 3
  • The Pearl Fishers– Jan. 25, Jan. 27, Feb. 2, Feb. 5, and Feb. 8.

A valid government ID must be presented when collecting tickets at the box office. Quantities are limited, and the offer may be revoked at any time.
