WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement in response to reports that former First Lady Barbara Bush passed away:
“Today, America has lost one of the most beloved and patriotic women of our time. Barbara Bush was the rock of the Bush family, a champion of child and family literacy and a true inspiration for so many people around our country and our world. Nancy and I loved seeing her with former President George H. W. Bush at events around Houston. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family at this time. She was the wife of a sailor – I wish Mrs. Bush fair winds and following seas in heaven.”
