American Legion Post 164 in Katy will be at four locations on Saturday, Jan. 20, to collect damaged and worn-out American flags.
Members will have collection containers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Snappy’s (5803 Hwy. Blvd.), Katy Hardware (559 Pin Oak Rd.), Lowe’s (I-10 and Fry Rd.), and the Elks Lodge (1050 Katy Fort Bend Rd.).
The old flags will be retired during ceremonies later this year at the Elks Lodge.
