Olson/Shaheen Diabetes Bill Signed Into Law

WASHINGTON, DC –Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today thanked President Trump for signing the Senate companion to his bill, the National Diabetes Clinical Care Commission Act into law. This bill, S.920 establishes a National Clinical Care Commission to evaluate and recommend solutions on how federal programs can better coordinate and support care for people with diabetes and related metabolic syndromes and disorders.

“Diabetes is a national epidemic that impacts millions of Americans,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “While we have cutting-edge research and clinical care institutions, this research only matters if we can translate it into direct patient care. This bill will help Americans at risk of diabetes access appropriate and effective preventive treatments and ensure that those with diabetes receive high-quality care and enjoy a better quality of life by successfully managing their disease. I want to thank President Trump for signing this bill into law and helping millions of diabetics in America.”
