Olson Holds Pearland Disaster Recovery Workshop

PEARLAND, TX – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today held a Harvey Disaster Recovery Workshop at the First United Methodist Church in Pearland. The workshop was the first in a series, and included representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) as well as State Representative Ed Thompson and City of Pearland officials. Attendees asked questions and received help filing disaster claims.

“I appreciate FEMA and SBA officials joining me in assisting Pearland area residents with their disaster claims,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “Navigating the federal disaster recovery process can be confusing. We wanted to bring help to one place where folks could ask questions and receive answers from experts on this process. I also want to thank Pastor Keith Whitaker and the First United Methodist Church for allowing us to host this workshop. As our Texas communities continue the Harvey rebuilding process, we are stronger when we work together. Thank you to all of the folks who showed up today. My office is always ready to assist with any help you may at the federal level. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.”
