Cross Country Results Weekend of Sept. 15-16

Here are results from recent cross country meets involving Katy-area high school teams.

Mayde Creek: Caldwell Invitational, Sept. 16

The varsity Rams’ girls took top team honors with a point total of 48. Junior Alessa King finished in third place at 12:21; junior Jennifer Soto, fifth, 12:34; junior Melanie Dominguez, seventh, 12:43; and senior Emely Aleman, eighth, 12:50.

The junior varsity team also cruised to a team first place. In overall times, freshman Angelica Cruz posted a time of 13:39.

The varsity Rams’ boys runners finished with a team fifth place.

Andy Wells Invitational, Sept. 16

The Katy varsity girls team finished second at 1:40:43.00. The Seven Lakes girls team finished sixth at 1:44:18.00

The Katy junior varsity girls finished first at 1:07:16.96. The Seven Lakes girls team finished sixth at 1:14:51.06.

In overall times, Audrey Witham finished seventh at 19:34:00. Carolina Ortiz finished right behind Witham at 19:39:00.

The Katy varsity boys team finished second with a time of 1:25:37.51.

2017 KISD XC Invitational, Sept. 15

The Cinco Ranch boys finished third overall. Individual times were: junior Rich Saenz, 16:27.1; junior Alan ElBanna, 16:49.15; senior Parker Diaz, 17:00.38; freshman Kassem Karouni, 17:33.35; sophomore Sam Flusche, 17:39.12; Mateo Taborda, 18:03.64; junior Jeff Shilanski, 18:08.87; Enrique Hernandez de Tejada, 18:26.90; and sophomore Alex Norman, 18:37.24.

The Cinco Ranch girls also finished third with a team score of 1:44:32.69. Freshman Heidi Nielson came in first at 18:36.21. Two seconds behind was senior Reagan Kappel at 20:24.12.

Other varsity girl team members include junior Holly Dasher, 21:33.05; sophomore Fiorella Vera, 21:37.70; Nykol Pratt, 22:21.61; sophomore Dalia Najjar, 22:34.35; and freshman Taylor Kappel, 22:58.02.
