Katy ISD Student Artwork to be displayed at U.S. Capitol

Taylor High students represent for a second consecutive year

 June 2, 2017 –Taylor High School art student Ana Olvera has won the Congressional Art Competition with her oil painting “Chasing the Storm.”   In addition to this honor, she received two round trip tickets to Washington D.C. to attend a reception at the U.S. Capitol where her artwork will hang for one year.

This national competition is coordinated by members of the U.S. House of Representatives and takes place every year to recognize the creative talents of students across the nation.

This is the second consecutive year that a Taylor High School student has received the honor of displaying their masterpiece in a legislative hall.
