April 10, 2017 – McRoberts Elementary Principal Dr. Kwabena Mensah is one of eight Texas principals recently selected as a Texas National Distinguished Principal (NDP) finalist by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA).
The final award winner will be surprised in May at their school with $10,000 as well as represent Texas at the 2017 National Distinguished Principal event in Washington, DC.
TEPSA received 123 nominations for the 2017 NDP award. After a rigorous reading process in which applicants shared their educational philosophies and accomplishments both in and out of the classroom, a peer-review committee selected eight finalists. These outstanding leaders then showcased their achievements during a school visit by a team of educators. Finalists will be recognized at the TEPSA Awards Reception June 14 in Austin, TX.
