Typhoon Texas Houston Announces Park Enhancements, Seeks to Fill 1,200 Seasonal Jobs

KATY, TX (March 22, 2017) – Weeks after announcing several new season pass perks for 2017, Typhoon Texas Houston is preparing for the upcoming summer season by expanding its on-site parking while installing new shade structures, rotating misters and other enhancements.

“Everything is about making our great, family-friendly waterpark experience even better for our guests,” notes Typhoon Texas General Manager Evan Barnett.

Perhaps the most noticeable improvement will be outside the west Houston waterpark where Typhoon Texas is adding 400 on-site parking spaces, all within a short walk to the entrance.

Inside the waterpark, Typhoon Texas will install additional shade structures and several rotating misters for those looking to cool off with a light spray of cool water.

Typhoon Texas Houston has upgraded its movie night presentation by adding a massive, custom screen to the back of its wavepool to create a Texas-sized movie screen with theater-like, Surround Sound audio.  The wave pool stage, which hosts live music throughout the season, also has been outfitted with a new lighting package for a more impressive nighttime experience.

Several retail carts around the park will be added offering hats, sunscreen, flip flops and other conveniences.

The west Houston waterpark is also accepting applications for a Texas-sized pool of 1,200 seasonal jobs in water safety, guest relations, food and beverage, programming, maintenance and park services.  Seasonal job applications can be accessed at the waterpark’s website, www.TyphoonTexas.com.  Re-hire applications are available for those who worked at Typhoon Texas Houston during the 2016 summer season or the park’s WinterFest event.

Typhoon Texas opens for the 2017 season on Saturday, May 27 through Labor Day.  The park also will be open for special themed nights and group gatherings.
