Ocean Star Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary With Open House

The Offshore Energy Center is hosting an open house to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum.  Have you ever wondered how workers on an offshore platform do their work?  Have you ever wondered why we need oil?  Come celebrate with us on Wednesday, April 26th at the Ocean Star and see for yourself!

The public is invited to this special open house celebrating 20 years as a unique and quality museum. Admission is free for the day.

The Offshore Energy Center is committed to educating the public about the offshore energy industry through educational outreach programs, chronicling offshore history, and operating the Ocean Star. Located on Pier 19 at 20th Street at Harborside Drive in Galveston, the Ocean Star is a retired jack up drilling rig refurbished as a museum about offshore energy. The museum is open daily, except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission fees are $9 per person, $6 for seniors, $5 for students, and children under 6 are free.
