Sep 7, 2024(1 event) 9:00 am: Friends Of Cinco Ranch Branch Library Host Fall Book Sale –
People who love books, people who love bargains, and people who need to get rid of some spare change will find a lot in common at the book sale, where they will discover adult and children’s books, all at prices that are hard to beat. Most items are available for $1.00 or less. Cash or checks are accepted. Items to choose from include new releases, fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, and classics, as well as DVDs and CDs. Donations of gently used books (fiction and nonfiction adult, youth, and children’s hardback and paperback books that are clean and not torn) are always welcome and may be taken to the library throughout the year during regular business hours. Textbooks are also accepted. Items that cannot be accepted include cassettes, VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, encyclopedias, medical/legal/computer books older than 2019, or books that are damp, moldy, dirty, or insect ridden. The Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library organization is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation. Donations and contributions to the Friends are tax-deductible. The Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library organization is instrumental in funding library programs such as the children’s Summer Reading Challenge. Proceeds from the book sale and annual membership dues also help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Membership applications will be available for people who would like to join the Friends of Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Oct 1, 2024(1 event) 6:00 pm: Library Hosts Rubber-Duck "Cosplay" Contest for Teens –
Using craft materials and rubber ducks supplied by the library, teens will decorate a duck based on their favorite fandom or character, or they can create an original design. The ducks will be displayed in the library, where visitors can vote on their favorite between October 2 and November 5. Winners will be announced on November 8. Contestants may pick up their decorated ducks after the contest is over and winners have been announced. Materials for this event are made possible by the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. The event is free and open to teens in grades 9 through 12. Oct 5, 2024(1 event) 11:00 am: Chess Players Invited To Practice & Share Tips At Cinco Ranch Branch Library Event –
Learn a new chess move (or two) during this come-and-go event. A limited number of chess sets will be provided, but players are welcome to bring their own sets as well. Materials for this monthly program are made possible by the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. This event is for players aged 7 to adult. The event is free and open to the public.
