Cornyn: UT Austin Receives NASA Grant to Bolster STEM, Aerospace Workforce

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the University of Texas at Austin was one of 52 institutions awarded a federal grant of up to $870,000 annually through their Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, a workforce development initiative administered through NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement (OSTEM), to support workforce development opportunities in STEM-related fields and prepare students to succeed in the aerospace sector:

“NASA astronauts aren’t just important to our space program, but also as role models who encourage kids to go into STEM fields,” said Sen. Cornyn. “Our space program is best in class, and this award will equip students at UT Austin with the tools to not only succeed in their education, but also thrive in aerospace, a highly competitive and evolving job market.”
