The Fort Bend County Fair Association is excited to announce the return of the Fort Bend County Fair Junior Leadership Council (JLC) for 2025! This program offers high school students a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills, work as part of a team, and gain valuable insight into the fair industry and its mission.
As a nonprofit organization with a deep-rooted history in Fort Bend County, the Fair Association provides volunteers with opportunities to get involved in one of the county’s largest and most iconic events. Members of the JLC will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the planning and execution of the Fort Bend County Fair, while also having the chance to influence the future of the event with their ideas and perspectives.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in a recognized public, private, or homeschool program in Fort Bend County as of Fall of 2025.
- The term of service for the 2025 JLC will run from March 2025 through October 2025.
As a JLC member, students will collaborate with the Board of Directors and Committee Chairpersons, assist with fair-related activities, and represent the youth voice at the Fair Board level. This experience will be an excellent foundation for future volunteer and leadership opportunities within the community.
The application deadline is February 4, 2025, and candidates will be required to participate in an interview as part of the selection process. The 2025 Fort Bend County Fair will be held from September 26th through October 5th.
