The school ranking and review website Niche has ranked the Katy Independent School District as the No. 1 school district in the Houston area and No. 13 in Texas.
The rankings are part of Niche’s 2022 best schools list.
Each year, Niche assesses school districts from across the country. Niche also ranks 14 elementary schools, eight junior high schools, and three high schools among the best in the Houston area.

The organization’s rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics, reviews from students and parents, and data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, among other criteria.
