On February 3, 2021, members of the Fort Bend County Juvenile Board unanimously elected Judge Teana Watson Chairwoman of the Board. She is the first African-American and female to be elected as the Fort Bend Juvenile Board Chair.
The juvenile board includes all of the sitting District, County Court at Law Judges and the County Judge. It serves as the board of directors of “Juvenile Justice” in Fort Bend County.
Judge Watson is excited to leverage this position to strengthen her efforts to serve the juveniles in Fort Bend county.
“I intend to work closely with all of the stakeholders of our youth in Fort Bend County including the chief juvenile probation officer, Kyle Dobbs,” shared Judge Watson. “We will work hard to meet the increase in serious offenses and mental health needs of our youth. Our children are our future and we will make every effort to meet their rehabilitative needs while protecting the public in Fort Bend County.”

ABOUT JUDGE TEANA WATSON
Teana Watson was elected Judge of Fort Bend County Court at Law #5 in 2018. Since being elected judge, she presides over the Fort Bend County misdemeanor drug diversion court program and was unanimously elected to serve as Fort Bend Juvenile Board Chairwoman. Judge Watson brings to the bench thirty years of legal experience, having served as principal attorney for TV Watson Law PLLC, a Stafford-based criminal defense firm; Associate Municipal Judge for City of Stafford; Chief Juvenile Prosecutor for Fort Bend County Assistant District Attorney; and advocate who drafted legislation and testify before a legislative committee on CPS and family issues.
