The Food Chain Project

As we continue to observe COVID-19 shelter in place orders, protecting the physical and economic health of our community matters more now than ever. In response to the crisis, Fort Bend County Commissioner Ken R. DeMerchant coordinated “The Food Chain Project,” a community initiative to support and invest in our local restaurants, show appreciation to our healthcare workers, provide needed donations to our local food bank services, and keep our economy strong.

Commissioner DeMerchant is asking residents to purchase a meal from a participating restaurant and donate a meal to a hardworking and deserving healthcare worker. The restaurant will donate a percentage of the proceeds to a local non-profit organization helping seniors and families with food insecurities.

This project is being kicked-off, in partnership with Aliana subdivision, Center Court Pizza and Brew, and Memorial Hermann Hospital. Commissioner DeMerchant is looking forward to expanding this project to other Fort Bend County Precinct 4 subdivisions and restaurants.

“Together, we can Keep Fort Bend County Strong”- Commissioner DeMerchant.
