KATY, TEXAS — Families looking for something to do in Katy tonight can head to Historic Town Square for the City of Katy’s Rock the Block Party, but attendees should prepare for dangerously hot conditions.
Rock the Block is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Katy Historic Town Square, 904 Avenue C, Katy, TX 77493.
The community gathering gives Katy-area residents an opportunity to visit the historic downtown district, spend time together and enjoy a Saturday night in the heart of the city.

Dangerous Heat Continues Across the Katy Area
The National Weather Service has extended a Heat Advisory through 7 p.m. Sunday for Harris, Fort Bend, Waller and several surrounding counties.
Peak heat-index readings could reach between 106 and 112 degrees. Although Rock the Block begins during the evening, temperatures and humidity may remain high when the event starts.
Anyone attending should:
- Drink water before leaving home and throughout the evening.
- Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
- Take regular breaks from walking or standing.
- Watch children, older adults and anyone sensitive to heat closely.
- Never leave children or pets inside a parked vehicle.
- Move to a cooler location if symptoms of heat illness develop.
Warning signs of heat exhaustion can include heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea and headache. Confusion, loss of consciousness or an extremely high body temperature may indicate heat stroke, which is a medical emergency. Call 911 immediately.
The National Weather Service also says isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible across parts of Southeast Texas. Attendees should check the latest weather conditions before leaving and remain alert for changing conditions.
