Learn to graft pecan trees

Fort Bend County will host a Pecan Tree Grafting Clinic from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, April 24. Dr. Monte Nesbitt will be the grafting techniques instructor.
The location of the clinic will be determined based upon class size. The location will be sent out the Monday prior to the clinic to those who have pre-registered and paid by noon, April 21. The cost of $25 includes lunch. Register at https://fortbend.agrilife.org/…/pecan-tree-grafting…/
No walk-ins or late entries will be accepted. Nesbitt is an associate professor and Extension Specialist with Texas A&M University Horticultural Sciences. Based in College Station, he’s a specialist in pecan/citrus. The pecan tree (Carya illinoensis) was designated the official state tree of Texas in 1919.
