Harris County Sheriff’s Office Concludes “Sheriff’s Connection: Driven to Justice” Series with Final Episode Highlighting Crime Analysis Intelligence Division’s Role in Solving Hit-and-Run Cases

HOUSTON, TX —  The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is proud to present the final episode of “Sheriff’s Connection: Driven to Justice,” which highlights the vital role of the department’s Crime Analysis Intelligence Division (CAID) in solving hit-and-run cases. In this concluding episode, viewers see how CAID’s data-driven strategies and cutting-edge technology have been transforming investigations and helping deputies track down suspects more efficiently.

“Every day, our deputies work relentlessly to solve crimes and bring justice to victims, and the Crime Analysis Intelligence Division is a vital part of this mission,” said Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. “Using the latest technology and data analysis, CAID provides our investigators with valuable insights that help them identify suspects faster and more accurately. We are committed to using every tool at our disposal to make our community safer.”

The episode dives into how CAID’s advanced technology and data analysis are helping to break open complex cases. Lt. Thomas Pasket, who works closely with CAID, explains, “We work closely with all of our investigators, especially our traffic unit regarding hit-and-run cases. By utilizing law enforcement databases and cutting-edge technology, CAID helps us develop new leads and get closer to solving these crimes.”

In one case, CAID analyst Jenna Caskey played a pivotal role by identifying a potential suspect vehicle. She spent days scanning vehicle databases and damage reports, ultimately narrowing down the list of possible suspects based on the debris left at the scene. “I hope the public knows that there are many people who care and are working to help solve cases,” says Caskey. Her work helped investigators save valuable time searching for the driver responsible for the crash.

Through the hard work and dedication of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, including the invaluable contributions of CAID, this episode showcases the power of data-driven policing in solving crimes. By blending technology with investigative expertise, CAID is making a real impact on public safety and justice for victims of hit-and-run crashes.
