Attorney General Ken Paxton Recognizes October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

AUSTIN – For the tenth consecutive year, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and the Office of the Attorney General (“OAG”) employees will participate in “Go Purple Day” during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On Thursday, October 17, OAG employees wear purple to symbolize solidarity with survivors, raising awareness against domestic violence.

“My office works tirelessly to combat domestic violence and support Texas families. Abuse has a terrible and lasting impact on families and our communities. Across the agency, we provide resources and raise awareness to help survivors find safety and support,” said Attorney General Ken Paxton. “Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected and create a safer Texas for all.”

This year, the OAG’s Child Support Division (“OAG-CSD”) relaunched https://getchildsupportsafely.org. The site offers resources for individuals navigating the child support process, with a special focus on safety and support for survivors of family violence. Initially launched in 2012, this website has been a collaborative effort between the Texas Council on Family Violence and the OAG-CSD. The redesigned site provides improved functionality and updated resources to help customers learn how to navigate the child support process safely and with confidence.
