Celebrating 88 years this year, the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo officially kicks off this Friday! A kickoff parade is set for 9:00 AM, with Olympian and multi-medal recipient, Simone Manuel as the Parade Marshal. The Fair’s 10-day run is full of family fun, livestock shows, rodeo action, and carnival rides. A sneak peek night will be held on Thursday, Sept 26 gates opening at 6:00 PM. From September 27 to October 6 the Fort Bend County fairgrounds in Rosenberg, Texas will be hosting the iconic event and one of the largest events in Fort Bend County.

- Celebrating 88 years this year, the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo is going big! Three weekends of family fun, livestock shows, rodeo action, and this past weekend’s BBQ cookoff was a smooth success. Fair days kick off with a sneak peek night on Thursday, Sept 26, and 10 days of fair fun from September 27 to October 6. As a beacon of entertainment for the entire family, the Fort Bend County Fair is an iconic event that serves the community with the mission of “Benefiting Youth, Promoting Agriculture, Supporting Education.”
- Over 50 committees of 1500-plus volunteers work diligently to host the Fair. Alicia Casias, is the 2024 Fort Bend County Fair Association President, and first Hispanic female to hold the title.
- Musical artists representing the Texas Music scene, Traditional Country, and the Tejano genre will bring their talents to our Fair. Remaining headliners include: –Drake Milligan, William Beckmann, De Parranda, Red – A Taylor Swift Tribute Band, Zach Top, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Randall King, and Rick Trevino. All the concerts are included with your gate admission. On the Music Row stage Ryan Hunter, Steel Country, Grupo Zamorales, Logan Ryan, Keyun and the Zydeco Master, and Maverick Murphy will be performing. On the Texas stage Czech band, Red Ravens will be playing. (David Lee Garza and Braxton Keith played over the BBQ weekend)
- The Fort Bend County Fair Association awarded over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships to deserving youth this year. 1.5 million dollars were generated in 2023 through the Fair’s auctions: Replacement Heifer Auction, School Art Auction, Jr Livestock Auction, Freezer Sale, and Last Draw Art Sale.
- New this year is a Sensory Calm Down Corral for children with intellectual challenges. The new initiative aims to make the Fair more inclusive and accessible for families with children who have special needs. The Sensory Calm Down Corral will provide a calm and quiet environment where children can regulate their emotions and rejoin fair activities once they feel ready. The Fair has been a longtime supporter of providing activities and events that we designed for those living with intellectual or physical disabilities. Old Three Hundred Horse Show, Exceptional Rodeo, Special Citizens Day, and our Livestock Shows are a few examples of the Fair’s commitment to their inclusion efforts.
- Another exciting addition to the Fair this year is the debut of a new youth leadership council. This council has been diligently honing its leadership skills and teamwork in the context of the Fair’s mission and the fair industry. Throughout the Fair, the council will be on hand to educate fairgoers about the Fair’s mission, ensuring everyone leaves with a deeper understanding of the event.
- Elite rodeo action returns October 4, 5, and 6 to the O.D. Tucker Arena as the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo’s Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo takes place. Our rodeo serves as a qualifier for RodeoHouston drawing top Cowboy and Cowgirls to our professional rodeo. The voice of the Fort Bend County Fair is icon Boyd Polhamus, Mo Betta
Rodeo will be bringing the rodeo stock, and making an appearance is the 2024 Miss Rodeo Texas Ashlyn Williams. Last year, over $130,000 was the total payout to the top-placing athletes, and at least three of our very own rodeo champions from the 2024 rodeo season will be heading into this year’s National Finals Rodeo. Be sure to watch for numerous PRCA World Champion athletes who will be bringing their talents to our rodeo. Other rodeo competitions include a Reunion Rodeo, Ranch Rodeo, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, and an Invitational Calf Roping. - Fairgoers can enjoy the Grapes on the Brazos premier wine room, experience top-notch livestock shows, Creative Arts displays, and access to shopping and food vendors. From funnel cakes to turkey legs, the Fair is packing in the must-have menu items. Amusement Midway Providers (AMP) carnival will have thrill-seeking rides to kiddie rides for all to enjoy.
- Free kid activities include the Ag’Tivity Barn, Student Fun Day, Stick Horse Rodeo, and Children’s Tractor Pull. Fan favorite action such as Mutton Bustin’ and Lawn Mower Racing are on the schedule. For the indoor action, a Domino Tournament is being held.
- Traditions are a huge part of the Fort Bend County Fair. The crowning of the 2024 Fort Bend County Fair Queen is a longstanding tradition that has 13 girls vying for the title. Fair honorees, the Magana Family, will be recognized for their longtime involvement in the Fair’s rodeo competitions, livestock shows and as volunteers for the Exceptional Rodeo. The Sr Citizens Day tradition took placed on Monday with nearly 1k in attendance enjoy – Bingo, live music, and a good bowl of stew was enjoyed.
