County Judge KP George, at the expense of Fort Bend County taxpayers, for the past couple of years has had a dedicated full-time Sheriff’s Deputy and a $70,000 chauffeured Tahoe SUV after he claimed his life was threatened by alleged racist social media posts.
Several additional Sheriff’s Deputies were assigned to last night’s public hearing on the County budget, hindering the access of residents and news media seeking answers from the Judge about evidence those posts were fabricated by Taral Patel – with his knowledge.
In a time when the Sheriff’s Office is struggling to fill 130 vacancies, these deputies should have been on the streets protecting our neighborhoods, not being diverted to help stonewall the public. Fort Bend County residents deserve better from elected officials.
