Master Gardeners offer second free class about lawn care

Part 2 of “Growing a Great Lawn, a free online class, will be offered Friday, April 5, beginning at 1 p.m. by Texas Master Gardeners of Fort Bend County.

This class, like the first one offered in March, will be presented by Boone Holladay, Horticulture County Extension Agent for Fort Bend County. April topics will be turf development, insect control and weed management.

Register in advance at:   All registered attendees will receive a link to the class recording.

Here’s the link to the March class:

Holladay said that during the March presentation, “I thought we did a good job; We just couldn’t cover all the content.” One reason might have been the number of questions raised by listeners during the first class.

“We got down to insect and disease and weed management,” said Holladay, “and we were out of time. There were a lot of questions; there’s a lot of need for information on those topics right now.  So, we just felt that we needed to go further with the content and expand on those topics to make sure we get everybody’s questions answered.”

The class is part of the Landscape Success series. Other classes in the series are: Flowering Plants for 4 Seasons on April 26, Using Irrigation Wisely on May 24, Shade Gardening-Ideas and Tips on June 28 and Tree Care Basics on Aug. 23.
