
Houston, Texas (Jan. 23, 2024) – Bach Society Houston, a premiere local organization that presents rich, vibrant, historically-informed performances of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries, has announced its concert schedule for spring 2024.
Bach Vespers
- Date and Time:Saturday, Feb. 3 @ 3:30 p.m.
- Location:Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2353 Rice Blvd.
- Admission:Free (Donations welcomed)
- Description:This liturgical performance features the cantata “Halt im Gedächtnis Jesum Christ,” BWV 67, commemorating the 300th anniversary of its premiere.
Bach Suites for Solo Cello

- Location:Museum of Fine Arts Houston, 5601 Main Street
- Admission:$50 general | $15 students (with ID)
- Description:Louis-Marie Fardet performs Suite No. 4 in E-flat major, BWV 1010, Suite No. 5 in C minor, BWV 1011, and Suite No. 6 in D major, BWV 1012 for solo cello, in the Museum of Fine Arts Houston gallery of European Art 1400-1800.
Bach: St. John Passion BWV 245 – in English translation

- Description:The Bach Choir collaborates with Christ the King Lutheran Church’s choir in artistic director Rick Erickson’s John Passion.

Baroque Music in the Americas
