(Houston, Texas – December 8, 2023) More than 16 miles of multi-modal mobility enhancements along the Westpark Corridor will be explored under a new partnership between the City of Houston, Harris County, Fort Bend County, and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Metro).
The partnership will be formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding during a signing ceremony in the first-floor conference room at 1111 Fannin Street on Thursday, December 14th.
The study will determine the feasibility of multi-modal mobility enhancements extending west of the planned terminus of the 25-mile University Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line at the Westchase Park & Ride for an additional 16 miles through Harris and Fort Bend Counties. Metro is expected begin construction on the University BRT line in 2025.
