Miller Outdoor Theatre Closes Out 100Th Season With Two Stellar Performances

Miller Outdoor Theatre’s 100th season ends this November with two world class performances PLUS one final Celebrate Miller 100! events including the internationally acclaimed Bejing Dance Theatre and performing arts giants BELLA GAIA and William Close & The Earth Harp Collective who are collaborating on the November 11 season finale performance.  Houston’s cultural arts gem presented 96 performances in its 100th season all free of charge.  Don’t miss the final two incredible 100th Anniversary performances. Bejing Dance Theatre: Three Poems

Miller Outdoor Theatre welcomes an absolute star in the contemporary cultural landscape of China, the Bejing Dance Theatre, led by artistic director/choreographer WANG Yuanyuan. Working with renowned directors, composers, and visual artists, BDT is a leader in creating cultural collaborations showcasing China’s best stage artists in unmatched, remarkable dance productions.

This performance in three parts explores themes of innocence and love and is sure to wow audiences of all ages.  The Washington Post calls the show “An invigorating experience… Sheer visual beauty.”

7:30 p.m. BELLA GAIA and William Close & The Earth Harp Collective

Dress in your best Steampunk costume and enjoy two hours of pre-show fun during the final Celebrate Miller 100 event. Travel through time with machines, zany performers, photo installations, live mural painting and more all ending in a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration between BELLA GAIA and William Close & The Earth Harp Collective, bringing the magic of both shows together. Not one, but two Earth harps will frame the stage and the spectacular sounds of the Earth harp combine with the visual story of BELLA GAIA (beautiful earth) blending music, visually-stunning dance with aerial acrobatics—along with NASA satellite imagery to tell a cosmic story of the interconnectedness of our planet. The season finale, and special salute to Miller, will truly take audiences out of this world, intended to not only touch hearts and minds while WOWing audiences, but also to inspire each attendee to deepen their sense of unity, connection, and appreciation for our world and for Earth.
