AARP, Blue Star Families Career Webcast: Free Resources for Veterans and Military Spouses to Gain In-Demand Job Skills and Find Flexible Job Opportunities

AARP and Blue Star Families will host a free, virtual event to help veterans and military spouses leverage upskilling and technology to accelerate their careers, as well as find flexible or remote career paths. The event will feature key resources and free tools from AARP, such as AARP’s Veterans and Military Spouses Job Center.

Although 90% of military spouses have either some college or a graduate or other professional degree, they often struggle with unemployment and underemployment. One of the biggest barriers to employment is the ever-present possibility of relocation: 81% of military spouses have experienced a permanent change of station, or PCS, during their partner’s active-duty career. Webcast registrants will get the latest tips and free resources on how to gain transferable, in-demand skills to get an edge in the job market and pursue flexible opportunities in various fields.

During the event, participants will also learn about certification opportunities from AARP’s Skills Builder for Work and get exclusive, FREE access to accredited courses to help them develop sought-after digital and leadership skills.
