Local restaurant Cajju Seafood & Grill will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in early October 2023.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on October 4th. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Vince and Lena Le about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Cajju Seafood & Grill is a family-owned Vietnamese-Cajun style restaurant with a colorful, spacious interior, high ceiling, and a window-enclosed kitchen visible from the dining area. Artwork on the walls and white tablecloths add to the ambience. The menu offers both Vietnamese and seafood specialties, often with a Louisiana flair.
Vince has worked in the restaurant industry since he was a teenager, and although he has opened other concepts, this is his first to own.
“We wanted to create a seafood restaurant with a casual, relaxed vibe but with upscale detail [concerning] the food and service,” he says.
Sourcing the proper ingredients of the highest quality is very important to the Les. Vince notes he and his head chef spent months trying to find a bakery which could make the wide, light and airy baguette that he wanted for his banh mi, or Vietnamese sandwich. He sources beef from a local ranch in Houston for his specialty beef dishes such as bo ne, or Vietnamese steak and eggs.
The most popular dish, however, is the Vietnamese style crawfish.
“What sets it apart is the way we produce our garlic butter,” Vince says. Fresh pineapple, oranges, celery, and other “secret ingredients” are blended together into a complex, flavorful sauce that really makes the dish.
“We really do it right,” says Lena.
America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Wednesday October 4th from 2 pm to 5 pm CST. The press is invited to attend.
