First ever oversite of elections in law by Texas SOS starts Friday, 9/1/23 over Harris County

SB 1933 by Senator Paul Bettencourt starts SOS oversite and follows his SB 1750 moving elections back to the elected County Clerk and Tax Assessor-Collector

Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston) will host the Texas House Elections Committee Chair and Texas Senate State Affairs Committee Chair and other Legislators at a press conference on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in his district office (11451 Katy Freeway, Suite 209, Houston, Texas 77079) to discuss the impact his major election integrity bills SB 1933 & SB 1750 that has gone into effect September 1, 2023.

WHAT: Press Conference on Harris County elections and SB 1933 & SB 1750. SB 1933 is the first ever Secretary of State oversite bill that will become law. SB 1750 has given back Harris County election dministration to the County Clerk and Tax Assessor-Collector.
