This training for anyone who works with people in public or private settings. Life can be stressful and sometimes people have extreme reactions to seemingly simple interactions. Just like medical first aid provides temporary basic physical care in an emergency, mental health first aid can provide temporary emotional care in an emergency. Knowing what to do in a mental health crisis is critical and can literally save lives. Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health crisis or substance use reaction and help connect them to the appropriate care.
