The Katy ISD Community Bond Advisory Committee (CBAC) is at the halfway point of reviewing, discussing and selecting projects which could potentially be part of a final 2023 schools bond package. This week, over 140 community members will continue vetting campus and facility projects, this time utilizing much of their time together to closely examine topics they have identified of particular interest including propositions and ballot language, one-to-one (1:1) student to device recommendation, safety and security requirements along with financial capacity and tax rate. Additionally, bond history, as well as past bond project status, campus and facility assessments and proposed campus renovations will also be discussed.
Media partners are invited to observe the CBAC meetings and group discussions with internal and external experts.
Two future CBAC meetings will take place at 5:30 p.m. on the following days:
- Wednesday, April 12
- Tuesday, April 18
The committee will have the option of presenting a recommendation to the Board of Trustees later this spring in consideration of a November 2023 bond referendum.
