North American Wine & Spirit Importers, LLC (NAWSI) announced that they will be presenting wines from their award-winning program, Wine from Lebanon, at their Taste of Lebanon kiosk at the Katy Sip N Stroll on Saturday, April 15, 2023. This is a rare opportunity to taste the wines before they are released and go on sale for the first time in Texas. Eventgoers will be able to learn firsthand how the individual wines are made and the history of the world’s oldest wine producing country.
Wine from Lebanon launched in Houston in 2022, bringing the taste of 15 innovative winemakers from one of the oldest and finest wine-growing regions in the world, introducing four unique indigenous grapes to the state of Texas. Texas ranks 3rd in the United States for wine consumption and Texans have a thirst for exploring new wine regions consuming 64.3 gallons of wine per year. The Wine from Lebanon program features 15 winemakers including several female-owned and managed wineries, winemakers under 40 years old, and winemakers utilizing indigenous grapes like Obaideh, Merwah, Meksassi, and Sobbagiegh, some of which have never been tasted in the United States.
Wine from Lebanon has made an early splash in the area winning an unprecedented 21 medals at the 20th Annual Rodeo Uncorked! ® International Wine Competition hosted by Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™. This year’s winners were announced on November 17 at NRG Center and featured 3,071 entries from 18 countries.

This year will be very special as wine enthusiasts can be some of the first to sip history, sip life, and sip love!”
Wine from Lebanon will make its debut at retail in early 2023, details forthcoming. But for now, wine and food enthusiasts at the Katy Sip N Stroll get the first sips!
