Easter a Time of Celebration, Feasting and Renewal

Tom Behrens – Easter has been a time of celebration and feasting. Many traditional Easter games and customs developed, such as egg rolling, egg tapping, pace egging, cascarones or confetti eggs and egg decorating.

The most famous Easter event in the U.S. is at the White House. Thirty-five thousand visitors from around the country head to the South Lawn to participate in the Annual Easter egg roll, play games and listen to stories.

Do rabbits lay eggs? According to Discovery News, since ancient times, eggs and rabbits have been a symbol of fertility, while spring has been a symbol of rebirth. So even though rabbits don’t lay eggs, the association of these symbols was almost natural.

The following is a partial list of some of the Easter Egg Hunts and Festivities in the Katy, Brookshire, Fulshear and Simonton areas.
