Master Eye Contact Techniques

“Eyes are the mirror to the soul” – while this saying might be a bit overused, there is no doubt that eye contact plays an important role when finding a partner. Whether you want to increase the number of people that desire you or make that one person fall in love with you, you should learn eye contact techniques.

Work on Your Eyes’ Shape

If you want to bring your love game to the next level, you might consider improving the shape of your eyes. And no, you don’t need plastic surgery to do that. Perhaps you have heard the term “hunter eyes” – it’s a shape when the upper eyelid is almost invisible. This shape of eye can give you more mystique and, in effect, make you look more desirable.

But how to get hunter eyes? You can try mewing. With this face reshaping technique, you can improve several sets of muscles in your face and get your dream eye shape. When you feel confident with your face, you might notice that your eye contact brings better outcomes than before.

Glancing Is Better Than Prolonged Staring

When you want to look at someone and make them attracted to you, remember to follow common sense. Staring at someone for a prolonged time can make them feel uncomfortable, and instead of increasing their interest in you, just creep them out.

If you are with your partner, you can gaze delicately, pay attention to their eyes, but also be mindful of their facial expression and body language. If you are trying to get someone new’s attention, for example, across the bar, send a glance, but don’t stare for too long. Then gaze again, and if the person seems to reciprocate your interest, you can delicately smile, and see where this will lead you.

Pay Attention to Your Body Language

Following the previous advice, remember about dividing between the look and other forms of nonverbal communication. Show your interest and feelings using body language and facial expressions, such as a smile, leaning towards the person, or nodding. Avoid crossing arms on your chest, as that might be read as a sign of not being accessible. If you add body language to your gaze, you are more likely to achieve your goals.

Practice in Front of the Mirror

Some people are naturally shier than others. If making eye contact makes you uncomfortable, try to practice first with your trusted friend or even in front of the mirror. When you know what you are doing, you might feel a little bit more comfortable with yourself and improve your chances of making memorable eye contact with the person you are interested in.
