‘Tis the season for festivities, gatherings and presents, but it’s also an ideal time to participate in holiday giving. To make this holiday season special, the YMCA of Greater Houston is calling on individuals to help spread holiday cheer among members of their communities by participating in a variety of the Y’s holiday giving opportunities. Please consider sharing these opportunities in any volunteer or holiday give back round-up features.
For years, the YMCA of Greater Houston has worked hard to make a difference in the community through YMCA programs that impact youth, families and older adults. The needs of the Houston community are diverse and evolving and the Y is needed now more than ever. Here are some ways Houstonians can give back:
- Holiday Giving Program– The holiday giving program initiative supports YMCA families in need and makes the holidays brighter for local kids and teens in the Y’s outreach programs. With a simple gift donation, the community can impact the lives of families needing a little extra love this season. - YMCA International Services Adopt a Family Program– YMCA International Services is a unique center of the YMCA of Greater Houston that delivers client-centered programs to refugees, immigrants and other vulnerable populations. The Y helps newcomers restore hope, build stability, create opportunity and change futures. The Y invites the community to adopt newcomers and vulnerable populations and fulfill their holiday wish list and essential items. Fill out the sponsorship application and adopt a family today!
- YMCA of Greater Houston Annual Giving Campaign– We believe the YMCA is uniquely suited to meet our community’s needs and we continue to prove it every day through the reinvention of the organization in an effort to better serve the area’s ever-changing social landscape. The annual giving campaign ensures that everyone has equal access to the resources they need to thrive. Donations help support the community and provide financial assistance for programs like After School Care, Youth Sports, Military Support Camps and many more.
