Empire West Business Park Nearing Completion

Brookshire Economic Development Commission, (EDC) Coordinator, Mike Barnes, shared with other members of the Commission at the EDC meeting, held Oct. 13, that Stream Realty has almost completed total construction in Empire West Business Park.

In June 2020 stream broke ground on Phase 1, three buildings totaling, 1,036,057 square feet. Building one is 163,144 square feet and is occupied by Warefor Solutions LLC, a manufacturer of high quality home products. Building two is 122,138 square feet and was purchased by Winix America Inc. a manufacturer of healthy home appliances and air purifiers. Building three is 750,775 square feet and is occupied by Ferguson Enterprises, the largest U.S. distributor of plumbing supplies, PVF, waterworks and fire fabrication products.

Phase 2 mirrors the design of Phase 1, but on a much larger scale, with buildings ranging from 124,000 square feet to over one million square feet. So far, an undisclosed tenant has leased 95,000 square feet in Building 7. Spaces from 50,000 square feet to over 1 million square feet are available for occupancy.

The Empire West Business Park has 5,000 feet of Interstate 10 and Highway 90 frontage with a dedicated east/west exit to the site.

Stream broke ground on the development in June 2020. Forty-five acres remain undeveloped.

Other BEDC items considered in the October 13 meeting included approval of All Play Inc. layout of Bostic Park, and playground equipment and fitness equipment for Longenbaugh Park. Ms. Lauren Quinn with Kraftsman addressed the board over the sizing of the amphitheater and its electrical components. Mr. Seth Stokes with Launch Graphics addressed the board showing signage for the different park locations, and the amphitheater and EDC sign. Motion was made to approve bids and designs. Motion carried.
