Houston Hospice Selects Vice President of Human Resources

Darlene Berliner, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP to Develop Competitive Compensation and Benefits Program to Attract Nursing Staff to 42-year-old Hospice

Houston Hospice, the oldest, largest, independent, nonprofit hospice in Greater Houston, is pleased to announce that it has selected Darlene Berliner, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP as its Vice President of Human resources.

In this role, Berliner will oversee the development and implementation of the 42-year-old hospice organization’s human resources strategy, including the expansion of its diverse nursing workforce, with special attention to registered nurses. In addition, focus will be on employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, recruiting and retention, training and development, as well as various organizational development initiatives. Based out of Houston Hospice’s Texas Medical Center location in Houston, Texas, Berliner will work in close coordination with senior leadership ensuring policies and initiatives are aligned within the organization’s 13-county service area population.

Berliner brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in human resources to the role. Prior to this, she was the Vice President of Human Resources for Zeno Manufacturing where she shaped the culture of the organization into a high-performance work environment. Berliner has also served as Director of Human Resources for RediClinic where she was responsible for full cycle human capital management of corporate personnel, retail healthcare and clinical personnel located in 100 clinics within 27 states in the U.S.

Berliner holds an MBA from Houston Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College.
